The first instinct in 360° is to want to direct the gaze. This is a mistake. The viewer will look elsewhere, and rightly so: that is exactly what was promised by giving them freedom of frame.
We learned to write scenes that hold wherever you happen to look. That means several simultaneous points of attention, and key information carried by sound rather than image.
Sound becomes the real staging tool. It signals where something is happening, without ever forcing it.
One last point, often overlooked: shots must run longer. A viewer needs three to four seconds to explore a space before being able to follow an action.
